And to think earlier this week I learned that The White House on Twitter - http://twitter.com/thewhitehouse - was similarly squatted and fooling over 15,000 followers. I don&#039;t know the process of discovery; but if you look at that feed now, you can see Twitter management stepped in and forcibly changed the bio to reflect its unofficial status.

As for my story, I&#039;ve tweeted as @ariherzog since the summer of 2008. But because I blog at ariwriter.com and knowing I&#039;d previously tweeted as @ariwriter in 2007, I have a message there pointing would-be followers to @ariherzog. In that sense, I squatted myself.</description>
